Frequently Asked Questions

WILD Coolers are built to endure the toughest adventures. With their rotationally moulded construction, they’re strong enough to be thrown off a cliff or even dragged behind a truck! Watch the video here to see them in action.

There is no industry standard for measuring ice retention, and we would hesitate to put a time period to ice retention (as some manufacturers attempt to do), because it can vary according to changes in the surrounding environment, ice quality and form and other variables. You can be assured that all possible non-electrical cooler box technology that can be incorporated into our cooler boxes has been – ice retention can therefore be relied upon as the maximum possible, exterior factors notwithstanding.
Remember that the colder your ice when you pack your cooler box, the longer it will last. Block-cut ice chunks starting at –zero temperature will last longer. Ice that is even slightly wet or dripping when it goes in will go much faster. A good tip to help ice retention is to reduce the air inside your cooler box – pack any empty space left, after ice and items are in, with towels or newspapers. Read more ice advice here. -
Whether it’s heat or cold you are after, our thick walls and polyurethane insulation will keep your contents at whatever temperature you want them.
-
Our cooler boxes are made via a high-temperature, low-pressure plastic forming process that creates a hollow, one-piece body. The process is the same one used to manufacture white-water kayaks. It ensures a consistent wall thickness, stronger corners and near-indestructibility.
-
For everyday cleaning purposes, soap and warm water will do it. For more intensive cleansing or to clear any odour (odour can get trapped in finicky areas such as around the gasket or drain plug), use warm water and bleach at a ratio of 6:1 and scrub with a rough cloth or sponge.

Our hard shell coolers are available in Deep Blue and Camo Green.
Our soft shell coolers and bags are made of RIPSTOP fabric and are available in Sea Blue and Camo Green.

Our coolers were independently tested by Kevin Richardson, known as the “Lion Whisperer.” He placed raw meat inside the cooler, secured with its rubber latches and two standard padlocks, and left it with a pack of hyenas for two hours. The hyenas couldn’t break in—WILD Coolers came out victorious! Watch the hyenas vs. WILD Coolers video here.

Yes! WILD Coolers are compatible with dry ice, wet ice, or WILD Ice—whichever you prefer to keep your contents cold.

I bought this cooler for my husband for his Birthday. He was very chuffed with it. He used it the next day and the ice was perfect the whole weekend.
His beaming face says it all in the unboxing video. A perfect birthday surprise!

This is my second Wild cooler. Works like a bomb and worth all the money they ask for it. Got the flask with it on special, and it keeps my ice cold for days. This cooler is cooler than my fridges, which makes it great for the KNP. If you are in doubt buy it, you will thank me later.

Upgraded from my Coleman that died eventually. It was a major leap of faith but glad I took it.
You are basically going from a Toyota work horse (Coleman) to a high end BMW (Wild) with all the bells and whistles that you didn't know you needed but are now mandatory. Solid construction and some very cool accessories that make the whole outdoor experience way more enjoyable. Keeps things crazy cold and really is built for Africa. SA's version of a Yeti cooler but proudly SA and made for Africa. Aesthetically your wife will forgive you after you tell her the price but it is built for life. Or at least 20 years. Statistically you have a better chance of getting divorced before this thing breaks.
Customer service is exceptional and thanks to Crystal you dealt with some quality control issues. She not only sorted out these issues out, but also made up for them. Premium product with premium service. Just buy one. And go wild!

From start to finish the entire order process, service and quality of goods received was exceptional.
Within minutes of placing the order. I was contacted by one of their sales representatives thanking me for the order and confirming that all was on track. Such a great personal touch!
The consignment was dispatched in a few hours from the order being received and was delivered via courier to my door the next day.
All the goods were received in good order, as well as the complimentary flasks that came with the order.
The coolers and flasks are made to last, you definitely get what you pay for. Hands down you cannot find a tougher, longer lasting cooler that will keep ice for days under extreme conditions.

After years of abuse in the extreme temperatures of the Richtersveld Desert on our multiday drift trips down the Lower Orange River, to the harsh Northern Natal Bushveld s seasons on Lake Jozini chasing tigerfish on fly, our fleet of Wild Coolers and accessories have stood up to the test.
